I‘d had a very brief dream just before waking the next morning in which I was proofreading a newspaper with a giant headline that simply read: “The End”. Using my pun-based method of dream interpretation, I knew this meant I needed the bad “news”, the proof that this was indeed “the end” of Genevieve’s fifteen-year life. Shortly thereafter, I received a call out of the blue from a friend named Alison who makes her living as a Psychic Medium. She asked me how I was doing. I told her, “Not well”, and explained what had happened. Alison responded, “So that’s why they told me I had to call you this morning!” She was referring to her Spirit Guides, who gave her uncanny information from the Other Side. She insisted on coming right over to help. When she arrived, she suggested we take a one more walk around the block. My neighbor and friend Lorraine joined us. Alison said, does the address 3737 Emerson Avenue mean anything to you? Could Genevieve have gone there? I thought about it and said; “No” she’d never been that strong enough to make it there. Besides she was an indoor cat. “We were on the 3700 block of Elliot Avenue in Minneapolis, and Emerson was roughly a mile and a half west of our Powderhorn Park Neighborhood, past a freeway, in Uptown”. We made it to the end of the block, passing a garbage can that had the house number 3737 painted on it. At the very end of the block, we encountered a neighbor’s beautiful German shepherd/wolf named Mullock in his yard. Alison said, “He knows why your hurting.” I think he saw her come this way. Maybe that’s where I got the “3737? from. It might have been something Genevieve had seen as she passed by.” Alison, Lorraine, and I turned back to go to my home when Alison said, “No, That’s not all of it”. Sorry, but they keep sending me 3737 Emerson. Let’s take a ride.” We all piled into Alison’s car and I directed her to the street she’d never before had been on. We traveled west on East 38th Street, over Interstate 35W past Nicollet Avenue, and on to King’s Highway, which was a bit of a misnomer because it was more of a “mall”, a two-way street with a tree -lined median dividing them. Next up the block would have been the 3700 block of Emerson Avenue. I say that because we could go no further we were facing the enormous Lakewood Cemetery, where that 3737 address, would have been! There was my “proof” that it was “the end” of Genevieve’s life. Photo “Genevieve & Dudley” by Sid Korpi Good Grief Pet Loss

Alison James says: I have an agreement with spirit that unless I can affect change I don’t want to know and I am not in the habit of providing unsolicited information. I do believe however “Genevieve” got together with my team and they worked it out a rare occurrence to get through to me when I am not “working”. Messages always come through for the receiver that is personal to them and me as messenger. In the case of Sid “metaphors” from her beloved from beyond.
